WHEN LOVE HAPPENS chapter 1

when love happens is one of my original play.

There lived three friends Mike, Moses and Miracle (M3).

Mike was tall, chocolate skin and muscular, Moses was cute but

short, Miracle was fair, tall and slim.

These three have been friends since childhood that everybody

who knew them started calling them M3.

M3 were so closed that they never wanted to separate from one

another even their parent never tried to separate them.

M3 have been together until university level.

In the university, Mike studied computer science, Moses

marketing while Miracle studied Law.

At the end of their study year, Mike was able to obtain a master

degree scholarship to study in India best Institution of

Technologies.

Miracle was called to bar immediately he completed his education

and Moses went into digital marketing businesses.

Few years later, Mike was through with his Masters and decided

to come back to the country.

Even when his parent asked him to stay over there and start a life

maybe go for doctoring, he said No.

On reaching the country, he now decided to bring up a business

idea during his sit out with his friends. Which they all agreed to it.

A month later, Mike being good in his field, decided to build a site

with the niche m3gist and later shared

responsibilities between his friends.

Moses was in charge of the marketing, advertisement, promotions

etc.

Miracle was in charge of the latest trending in national and

international news and Mike was in charge of the maintenance

and also programming tutor.

A year later, their m3gist website started gaining popularity they

then went further and rented a building to use as a company.

With this, they started helping people running local businesses in

their city by registering their businesses, products with m3gist for

advert.

Mike, Moses, Miracle founders of m3gist marketing group of

companies was recognized all over the world.

Mike being the brain behind m3gist, tall and handsome guy, he

could get any lady he decides with that, he believed that there is

nothing like love without money.

His friends tired talking him out of his flirting life style but it was

in vain.

One day they were having lunch in a restaurant when a lady

walked up to their table and said “Hello handsome” when they

looked up Mike discover that she was referring to him so he

looked at his friends and later turned around and smile at the

lady and said, “Hello beautiful”.

Am Sandra she said and I’m Mike. So, Mr. Mike do you mind we

speaking on phone?

Then handed over her card to Mike before Mike could respond.

Then he said sure who with his right senses wouldn’t call a

beautiful damsel like you. They both smile and held hands for a

minute then left.

(Immediately she left)

Mike discovered that his friends were starring at him with surprising eyes, he then laughed and said what?

Am I the one that went for that one or she came to me? Guys see

that’s life, when you are tall, cute and rich, love is very simple to get.

Miracle: (to mike) you better be careful because being cute and

rich does not prevent disease when it comes knocking.

(they all laughed and started eating their launch)

Miracle was really disturbed by his friend’s life style he then

decided to discuss it with Moses so that they can make a plan on

how to make him stop.

(That evening, they went to Mike’s apartment while chatting and

watching India love movies, an idea came into Moses head and he

spoke out)

Mike, have you ever stick with one lady up to a month before?

Moses asked.

On hearing the question, Mike laughed, Of course not… why

should I be wasting my time

while there are other ladies out there waiting for their own share

of this (he touched his body).

Miracle and Moses decided to use his statement to their own

advantage knowing very well that Mike doesn’t like losing to

anyone when it comes to challenges.

So they said Mike if you date a particular lady for at least two

months, we will give you 10% of our share of the company.

But he laughed then stir at them and said you are kidding? Then

he discovered that they were not smiling so he said, you guys are

not kidding?

We are serious but it’s okay, we already knew you can’t do it.

(he was mute for some minutes)

He said, but two months is too much now….

Miracle: So do you agree or you are backing out?

Mike: No I agree, perhaps 10% from you both will go a long way.

But I got to choose the lady I want. Do you guys agree with me?

Miracle and Moses: (both agreed) you are the boss.

Chapter 4 WHEN LOVE HAPPENS

Krish: hahahha girl you wish…

Kristina: what?? Michael sharks is your brother? like biological brother?

Krish: are you playing with us right now?

Sarah: no I’m not.

Kristina: but since when? You guys are not even bearing the same name.

How come he is your brother or is he your village brother?

Sarah: see, you girls only know my first and last name which is Sarah S. Anderson

Krish: So?

Sarah: the “S” in my name stands for Sharks. Which is Sarah Sharks Anderson.

Kristina: shut…… up!!! Are you serious?

Kristina and Krish: (wow) we are sorry. We didn’t …….

Sarah: (cuts in) It’s okay girls… people like calling him that even in my present and perhaps, you

girls never knew he was my brother.

Kristina: wow so what more secret have you kept from us?

Sarah: hahahahahha.

At the end of the discussion.

Sarah: so please can you befriend my brother for now at least let’s see if having a decent

female friend beside him will change him?

Kristina: will change him? How will having a female friend change him?

Sarah: Mike mindset is that every lady that comes closer to him is coming for his money so

he doesn’t believe in friendship with an opposite sex.

Krish: so you mean that my sister will not make any money from this project to avoid wrong

impression?

Kristina: come!!! Were you trying to use me and make money?

Krish: lols not like that na. at least you need an upkeep.

Sarah: name your price I will pay you.. but please don’t make him fall in love with you thus

He will try flirting with you, keep it in a friendship level to avoid anyone getting hurt.

What do you say?

Kristina: okay I will give you a respond by tomorrow after dinner with your brother.

Krish: yes!!! I knew you will do it… game on..

Kristina: hey lady….. I didn’t say I will. I said till tomorrow.

(they all laughed)

Before 8pm, Mike was always in Kristina living room waiting for

her to get set for them to go for

dinner. Kristina then came out she was on red short gown with silver accessories.

Mike: wow!!! You look extraordinary on red.

Kristina:(smiles) thank you.

Mike: may we? (he pointed to the car packed in the entries.)

Kristina: yea sure.

(on reaching there)

Kristina: wow this place is beautiful

Mike: yea it is. Is this your first time here?

Kristina: yes

Mike: you don’t mean it…

Kristina: I mean it…. I’ve always wanted coming here with my sis.

Mike: that means I choose the right place for this dinner.

Kristina: (smile) I guess.

Waiter: welcome sir.

Mike: how are you?

Waiter: fine sir.

Mike: is our table ready?

Waiter: yes sir.. please follow me.

(while they were eating)

Mike: do you like the food?

Kristina: I love it..

Mike: smile. I’m glad you do. So tell me about yourself?

Kristina: nothing much about me. I’m just a simple Akwa Ibom lady from the family of three.

Two girls one boy, my brother just had admission into NIT

Mike: that’s nice what about your sister?

Kristina: her name is krish we live together.

Mike: “krish”, “Kristina”

Kristina: lols actually her name is Christabel we are identical twins. Too much India movies she

felt in love with the name krish.

Mike: that’s cool. Like I’m in love with you now?

Kristina: hahahaha.

Mike: I’m serious, I like you.

Kristina: mike, liking someone is normal.

Mike: hahahaha abi. So what do you want me to do now?

Kristina: we can just be friends you know? At least get to know each other.

Mike: two adults being just friends? Is that even possible?

Kristina: you may never know unless you try experimenting it.

Mike: hmmm okay. If you say.

Kristina: what’s your own story the one that media doesn’t know.

Mike: hahaha well, we are just two. I and my sister, her name is Sarah, she is great you will like

her when you meet her.

Kristina: yea she is great.

Mike: have you met her before?

Kristina: oh no, but I can’t wait.

Mike: okay.

Kristina: is getting late we should start going.

(they both stood up and walked to the car)

Kristina: did you pay those guys?

Mike: yea It was booked so I paid online.

(he took her home and then departed to his house)

On reaching home, he saw his friends already seated in the front stage waiting for his arrival.

When he saw he started laughing.

Mike: come guy una no get una houses again? (don’t you guys have houses again)

Moses: shut up this one na house?

Miracle and Mike: laughed…

Miracle: tell us did it go well?

Mike: we….. (pause as his phone started ringing) shhhh stop talking she is calling.

(he picked the call)

Kristina: hello

Mike: hello beautiful

Kristina: I just wanted to say thanks for the dinner I enjoyed it.

Mike: I’m glad you did. So can we do it again sometime?

Kristina: okay sure. Are you home now?

Mike: yea I’m home. Just missing you.

Kristina: smiles Okay take care of yourself Goodnight dear.

Mike: okay sweet dreams love.

He ended the call.

I told you guys, I run this town, game on…  abi two months? just prepare the 10% and

keep for me.

Miracle and Moses looked at each other but said nothing.

Krish: wow that guy is really ready to twist your brain girl. Please be smart.

Kristina: see who is giving someone advice.

They all laughed.

Sarah: I know he is my brother but Krish is right this time please be careful he is good.

Kristina: okay I will.

(Kristina and Mike kept updating their friends about the progress of their friendship but things

started changing on the fourth week, they started being secretive no more update to their

friends, no more conference calls, no more putting of phone on speaker while calling one

another.)

On the second week of the second month, Mike got sick and was hospitalize. When Kristina

heard it she decided to visit.

Kristina: good afternoon nurse

Nurse: yes…..

Kristina: looking for Mr. Michael sharks.

Nurse: and you are?

Kristina: Family

Nurse: okay room 14 VIP quarters.

Kristina: thank you.

On reaching there, Mike was awake and his friends were with him.

Kristina: hi

Moses and Miracle: hi

Mike: babe

Kristina: how is your health?

Mike: I’m getting better.

Moses: cough

Mike: oh guys this my dearie friend. And babe these are my friends, Miracle and Moses. We

growth up together.

Kristina: wow is great to finally meet you guys.

Moses: same here.

Miracle: we’ve heard a lot about you.

Kristina: when will you be discharge?

Mike: today

Kristina: today? But you don’t still look good.

Moses: he insisted on going

Kristina: insist? Why?

Mike: babe soon the media will full this hospital and I can’t stand them.

Moses: but who will take care of you at home this one your sis is sick too?

Kristina: your sister is sick? Wow

Miracle: maybe we will get a maid for him.

Kristina: no need for maid…. I will take care of him

Mike: looked at Moses and Miracle and smiled…. Babe are you sure you want to do this?

Kristina: I guess… or don’t you want me around?

Mike: of course I want you. Just that…

Kristina: then stop talking.

Mike: okay thanks babe. I love you.

Kristina: smiles.. I know.

That evening, Mike was discharge. Kristina moved in with him just for the treatment period.

Few days later,

Miracle: my man.

Mike: welcome guys.

Moses: how’s your health?

Mike: I’m good man. Thanks for coming around….

Moses: anytime man. Perhaps what can you do without us.

Mike: hahahahaha mad man.

Miracle: your babe is really taking care of you oh.

Moses: I swear. See how a sick man shine.

Mike: hahaha well she is a good lady am telling you.

Miracle: but my man, you try oh.

Mike: for wetin? (for what)

Miracle: keeping her till now, guy what is the secret, you don fall in love so? (have you fallen in love).

( Kristina coming out from the kitchen overheard their discussion. She waited at the lobby to

hear more)

Moses: See question oh guy, what else will keep this kind of guy that doesn’t believe that love

still exist without money in this bondage till now if not our 10% of the company shares.

Mike: guy wetin dey do you? (what’s wrong with you) don’t allow my babe to hear you oh.

I……

(before Mike could finish talking, Kristina left, she went to the room and packed her stuff. On

reaching the living room)

Moses and Miracle: hi Kristina

Kristina: hello guys, (she turned to Mike) something came up at the bakery that require my

immediate attention. So I will have to run.

Mike: okay…… but what’s with the box?

Kristina: which of the box?

Mike: your box

Kristina: oh yea the box. I need to stop by the house and pick new set of clothes.

Mike: are you okay?

Kristina: yea I’m fine.

Mike: okay babe. Call me once you reach. I………

(she left immediately before Mike could complete his word) love you.

Moses: is everything okay with you guys?

Mike: yea everything is okay…. I guess.

Miracle: Moses, you were right oh, our man is in love.

Mike: smiles…. shut up…….

Three days later, Kristina, krish and Sarah were at the bakery

Sarah: girl I’ve never seen you like this, is everything okay between you and my brother?

Kristina: yea, yea, everything is fine.

Krish: come on Kristina, tell us what the problem is. If is Mike, then I will get him beat up for

you. You know na

Kristina: smiles thanks dear, but he did nothing to me. Just that I just don’t know what to

believe any more after what I heard from them.

Krish: what did they say and who are the them?

Kristina: M3 of course. Do you know that this guy used me in winning a 10% share of the

company bet he had with his friends.

Krish: oh Lord shivah

Sarah: come krish, must you be saying that all time. The earlier you realized that you are not

an Indian, the better.

Kristina and krish: laughed

Krish: but that guy wicked.

Sarah: wicked? What makes him different from us? Were also playing a game don’t ever forget that.

Krish: well, that’s true but still, he played with my sis emotions.

Sarah: krish don’t be sentimental. You know very well that your sister doesn’t love anyone

except her bakery.

Krish: hmm Sarah are you that dump? When your brother got sick and you turned your back on

him, my sister had to move in with him, just to take care of him what more do you want to see

before you notice the changes in front of you that she loves your brother.

Sarah: hmm she loves my brother? What love is that if she can’t even admit it in front of us.

I don’t think……

Kristina: (cut in) can you girls please stop. I know the plan wasn’t to fall for him, but what did

you expect me to do. After moving in with him, I notice so many things about him, I felt at

home, safe and loved.. no man has ever treated me the way your brother did. I can’t believe

he was twisting my brain. How could I be so stupid to believe in love again.

Sarah: again?

Krish: well, Sarah everyone has a story.

Sarah: hmmm so let me get it straight… do you still love my brother?

Kristina: I love him

Sarah: but he played you? What will you do about that?

Kristina: we are not innocent either remember, I wish all his words were true. I can’t believe I

fell for that. My heart just deceive me..

Sarah: then if you love him that much, don’t back out.

Kristina: how? He doesn’t even love.

Sarah: I guess he does.

Kristina: how do you know that?

(someone from the table behind Kristina responded) because I told her.

When she looked it was Mike sitting behind them with his friends.

She stood up immediately and wipe her tears.

Kristina: what are you doing here and for how long have you sat there?

Mike: I came to take you home… and for how long have stayed there, well long enough that

krish couldn’t join again in the discussion because I begged her not to.

Kristina: take me home as what?

Mike: I love you

Kristina: you love me? Is there a new bet on ground and you need me to win again?

Mike: come on Kristina, I will be a fool not to love you.

Kristina: then what about the bet?

Mike: I was hurt, I didn’t know what to do any more but when I met you, you were different. I

could have called off the bet since if only I knew that you were real.

I only realized it when my Sister told me about the plan you girls had.

Kristina: “plan”?” your sister”( she turned to Sarah and said) start talking.

Sarah: well you stopped updating us about the progress of your friendship with him, you

changed, you were no more doing conference call. So I decided to find out by going to stay

with him during that weekend.

Krish: eheheh you told us you were going to visit your family not your brother.

Sarah: yea, but Mike is my family too.

Kristina: please keep talking Sarah…

Sarah: when I reached there, I also discover that my brother changed too. He couldn’t stop

talking about you. I couldn’t endure my brother getting hurt again so I told him everything.

Kristina: everything huh?

Mike: yea she told me everything, how you don’t believe in love also and how they planted you

in my life as a friend. But it was too late because I was already in love with you.

Sarah: I knew you were in love with my brother even when you didn’t want to admit so from

seeing the changes from the both side, we decided to change the game.

Mike: I wasn’t sick, it was just part of the plan. Come on Kristina, if you didn’t love me, you

couldn’t have come to look after a grow up guy like me.

Moses: so the doctor, the drugs, the reaction on your face?

Mike: well, that’s our family doctor, the drugs were just vitamins and as for the reactions, they

were real.

I’m allergic to cheese but to make it look real, I had to take it then I called my doctor to be

stand by.

See, I’ve not been this serious in my life for a long time, believe me babe. I love you and I’m

sorry I played you.

Kristina: smiles you took cheese just to get my full attention… I’m sorry that you had to go

through that just to make me realized who much I needed you.

Mike: then marry me, I promise to be faithful.

Kristina: hahahaha I know…

Mike: hmmm you know? Sarah told you about my past?

Kristina: hmmm I guess..

Everyone started laughing…..

Mike: then will you marry me or will you like to confirm from Sarah first?

Kristina: hahahaha of course I will marry you.

Mike: Thanks sis I hold you one big time.

Sarah: anything for family.

Moses moved closer to Krish

Moses: are you single…….

Krish: smile.. yea.

Moses: can I ask you out?

Krish: as a date?

Moses: yea if you don’t mind

Krish: I don’t mind…

BUSHPATH-DAY

OLIVIA 23, and her boyfriend GAEL 25, are standing near

each other but Olivia’s friend MARY 23, is standing a bit further

from them.

Suddenly Olivia slaps Gael who smiles gently and looks back at

her.

OLIVIA:  Gael how dare you?  How dare you call me a slut?

GAEL: (holds his right cheek) Tell me Olivia, isn’t that what you

are?

OLIVIA: (looks at him furiously with tears in her eyes) Gael, I

thought you loved me.

I thought you knew me all these years but no, Gael you never

loved me.

GAEL: Yes, I still love you. But I just can’t bear seeing my girlfriend, my  own woman sleeping around with men for mon…..

OLIVIA: (slaps him again as tears trickle down her cheeks) Gael I

hate you, I just hate you from the bottom of my heart.

I was a virgin when I met you, Gael you took my virginity, you

promised to be with me for the rest of my life.

(she places her two hands on his chest)

OLIVIA: Gael, please don’t leave me, please don’t abandon me

right now (she looks into his eyes but he pushes her away)

Gael please, I need you and someone else needs you right now.

GAEL: Olivia! Olivia it is over between the two of us can’t you get

it? How else do you want me to tell you?

OLIVIA :(she goes down on her knees and holds his legs) Gael

GAEL: (unable to look back as tears fill his eyes) Olivia please

(he turns to her who is sitting on the ground, bends down &

kisses her forehead. She holds his hands)

GAEL: I love you. I love you so much dear. Pump yourself up.

Goodbye.

(he turns back and walks gently away as tears trickles down his

cheeks. This time around he leaves her without stopping or

looking back)

OLIVIA: (screams) Gael!! Gael!! Please don’t go. Don’t leave me

here, I still love you. Gael!

MARY: Olivia C’mon is okay Let’s go home.

OLIVIA: Mary please go call him back.

MARY: Over my dead body.

(Olivia puts her head down and cries)

Scene2

GAEL’S ROOM-DAY

Gael is seen lying down on the bed looking miserable. His

friend HOLY 25, comes in.

HOLY:   My boy how far? Why you still dey lie down for bed?

GAEL: Holy abeg, carry your wahala dey go your house.

HOLY: (laughs) Common get out, you are not feeling fine. How

far na where your babe dey? E don tae I no dey see her again

wetin happen?

GAEL: (he sits up) My brother, I broke up with her last week o. I

dey try to call her but her number just no dey go at all.

HOLY: Nonsense! Why you dey foolish like this for this small

world.

Wetin she do?

GAEL: Guy no be that one dey do me now, I wan see her, I want

to tell her how sorry I am.

That is, I wasn’t myself that day. Thelma told me Olivia has been

sleeping with her father.

So with that anger I went straight to her and (he hisses)

HOLY: And you believed that naughty bitch, Jesus! Guy why is

your life like this.

How could you be so naive as to believe every single thing that

liability, saucy bitch tells you?

GAEL: Holy guy, see no blame me na. Thelma don tell me this

thing plenty times and that day wetin make me no think twice

before I do wetin I do be say, I see her leave

that man office that day.

HOLY: Why didn’t you ask her what she went there to

do, it might have been something opposite of what you had on

mind.

GAEL: Na later she come text me say she bin go collect her

money from the man.

She had called me with her friend’s number like ninety-nine

times that day but I didn’t pick up.

Guy I was extremely angry and jealous.

I later confirmed she wasn’t lying when I met Thelma’s sister

Ruth and she told me everything I needed to know and that her,

her sister lied to me.

HOLY: Mumu guy, you no sabi say Thelma dey look for you. She

wants to have you… Guy look is okay, just try calling her.

GAEL: My man no calling of names na abeg. help your guy out

abeg, follow help me Call her and tell her I am

sorry and that I love her more than ever.

HOLY: Thank God you know that if you let Olivia go….

GAEL: I will never find any girl Like her.

Please call her up for me, I want to see the love of my life.

(The two laugh)

Scene 3

OLIVIA’S RESIDENCE-  NIGHT

Olivia and Mary are seen conversing. Olivia is crying deeply

while Mary tries to console her.

MARY: Olivia, please stop crying.

OLIVIA: Mary I wish I could stop myself.

Mary, it is very painful to be abandoned by a man whom you love

so much in this life.

MARY: But right now it seems Gael doesn’t need you in his life

anymore….

OLIVIA: But I need him, my baby also needs a father….

MARY: Olivia please don’t tell me that bullshit. Is he the only guy

on earth?

There are many guys out there waiting to have a beautiful

princess like you for a wife and not….

OLIVIA: Mary, have you ever been in love before, do you even

know what love is?

MARY: Yes, I have and also yes I do know.

OLIVIA: The problem is that as much as I can’t force him to love

me, I can’t force myself to stop loving him.

MARY: (sigh) I’m tongue-tied, I don’t know what else to say

dear..

Olivia, I think you need some rest.

The doctor said you shouldn’t stress yourself that much.

OLIVIA: Am not stressing myself, I am only thinking about Gael.

How is he doing right now, has he eaten or is he thinking about

me, who knows?

MARY: I just feel like hating you right now.

You are the one in danger and yet you are still worrying dead

about that nonsense who doesn’t deserve you at all….

OLIVIA: (stands up instantly & yells at her)

Gael isn’t a bad person. He isn’t nonsense… He is just angry with

me because he thinks I have been sleeping with Thelma’s

father…

(she pauses and holds her belly) my stomach, my stomach.

MARY: (stands up and holds her) olivy are you okay?

What is wrong with you Olivia talk to me what is it?

OLIVIA: Call the doctor. (she collapses)

MARY: No no No ooo (she screams) Olivia please don’t do this to

me please. Olivia!

 

Scene 4

GAEL’S ROOM- DAY

Gael hears a knock on his door, he stands up and opens the door

as Olivia’s friend Mary comes in.

GAEL: Mary Good Morning Is Olivia back home now? Please sit

on the bed.

MARY: Actually, I am here to deliver this letter to you (looks away

and brings an envelope from

her handbag) she wrote this for you (she hands it over to him and

sits on the bed as he reads it out to

her hearing)

GAEL: Hi sweetheart, I don’t know why I am writing this, but I

really hope that this letter never gets

to you, because if it does that means I am dead (he pauses in

shock and looks at Mary who isn’t looking

at him) and it also means I never had the chance to show you

how much I really did love you.

You are the beat of my heart, the soul in my body.

You have shown me what love is and what it feels like

to be loved.

Every time you kissed me and our lips touched so softly, I could

feel it when our hearts get so closed they are beating as one.

You are the person I know I could turn to when I needed help,

you are the person I looked at when I needed to smile and you

are the person I went to when I needed a hug…

(he turns to Mary) Is this one of her jokes?

(no response from her, he continues)

GAEL: (tears trickle down as he continues)

Each night I could go to bed, kiss my fingers, then touch your

face.

I would put a photo of you over my bed so you could look over

me as I slept, well, now it is my turn to look over you as you

sleep and keep you safe in your dreams.

I’ll always be looking over you to make sure you are safe and do

Mary: Yes, I can see her.

Olivia: Am not dead. Well maybe I was some hour’s ego before

Mary brought you the latter.

Gael: How? How is that possible?

Olivia: I was on the journey when I heard a voice calling my

name, when I looked, it was my grand ma,

I was so happy to see her after so many years, but she was

angry at me so she pushed me away. I never

knew why she did that, but I kept on running back to her telling

her how much I missed her but she said

something to me that got me angry and I ran away from her

thinking she will call me back but she

didn’t and that’s how I woke up.

Gael: what did she say?

Olivia: she said” I don’t miss you” but now I know that she didn’t

mean that, she only said that to make

me feel bad.

Gael: (cried out) am sorry Olivia, I should have trusted you, I was

so foolish.

Mary: yes, you were really foolish

Gael: I was so foolish to ever give a third party space to come in-

between us.

I lost you once but I will never lose you again please I promise to

love you and the baby with my life.

(they both cried and hug each other)

FADE IN

Scene one:

EXT: BUSH PATH- DAY

A notorious native doctor by name OTUOKE 55, is seen walking through a bush path murmuring to himself in anger and calling the name of the gods of the land.

EXT: CHUKWUDI ‘s RESIDENT-DAY

At the back of the house, CHUKWUDI 26, is seen trying to Keep the environment in order. His sister AMARACHI 23 is also seen clearing the bush. Suddenly Otuoke matches in. He moves straight towards the direction of Chukwudi who instantly stops what he’s doing as he sees him approaching

Chukwudi: (turns to him) Imieke, I greet you.

Otuoke: (looks at him angrily) Only a foolish fly follows a Corpse into the grave. Olaniyi,

I have come again to remind you of the promise your late father made before he died.

Chukwudi: (smiles gently) I know of the Promise, but you see, my father is no longer alive

We the children cannot and will never pay for what we know nothing of. he thought it                             was right for him to worship a lifeless god like that.

Otuoke: Don’t you ever speak about

the greatest god of this land in such a dreadful manner.

(Amarachi rushes out of the bush to his brother)

Amarachi: (to Otuoke fearlessly) Imieke, what is it again? We have chosen not to worship the                 gods of my late father any longer.

Why do you keep insisting that we worship your god?

Imieke?

Otuoke: (looks up to the sky) your grandfather and your father served this god and it is mandatory

for the entire family to continue from where they Stopped.

Chukwudi: we cannot continue to fool ourselves by Worshiping a lifeless Image. My siblings  and I have chosen to worship the creator (he points to the sky) our master, the King of Kings, the mighty Man in battle, the undefeatable, unbeatable. I call him Omega.

Otuoke: (laughs at him) If I were you, I would Stop deceiving myself. For there is no god like

      Amadioha, the alusi god of

    Thunder and lightning.

    Ijiji na-enweghi onye

    ndumodu na-eso ozu ala

     n’inyi. (laughs and goes away)

Amarachi: Brother don’t mind him.

We are not afraid of him neither are we afraid of that Amadioha

Or whatever it is called, we are Serving the living God, Omega.

Chukwudi: Let’s go in dear. For the lord Will never disappoint us.

Light fade

Scene 2 (Omega)

EXT: CHUKWUDI’s COMPOUND- DAY

Amarachi is seen eating with

Her sister CHISIMDIRI 18.

Amarachi: Chisim, guess who I met on my way coming back from the market yesterday.

Chisimdiri: hmm, hmm, hmm. Okay, brother Titus.

Amarachi: Onye bu Brother Titus?

(she hisses) I saw Isabella, my best Friend in secondary school.

Chisimdiri: Are you serious! Oh my God, how is She doing? (starts scratching her eyes) Ella my

Second mother.

 

Amarachi: (laughs) Second mother my Foot. Chisim will you Stop scratching your Eyes, do you          want  to blind Yourself.

Chisimdiri: (removes her hands) I can’t see. Sister can you See me?

Amarachi: (laughs) You are very naughty. Stop that kind joke o.

(Chisimdiri stands up)

Chisimdiri: (she moves her hands backward and side to hold Amarachi)

Amarachi, I can’t see again.

(she cries) Amarachi, where are you? What is happening?

Amarachi: (stands up) Chisimdiri, what do you Mean?

Chisimdiri: (falls to the ground as Amarachi rushes to her and helps her up)

I can’t see again o.!

Amarachi: I can’t hear what you are saying. Chisim can you hear me?

Chisimdiri: Yes. What is wrong with you?

Amarachi: Chisim, I can’t hear You. Am dead o They sit on the ground and cry out to God.

Light fade.

Scene3:

EXT: CHUKWUDI’s PREMISES- DAY

Chukwudi is seen walking around the compound with his two hands place at his back. He is contemplating about the recent calamity in his home:

Chukwudi: God please come and help us, please you are the Alpha and the Omega and there is none like you.

Otuoke appears behind him laughing

Otuoke: Your crazy god is sleeping. I have come to tell you that the great Amadioha, god of Thunder  and lightning, has given up on you. Amadioha is now ready, fully ready to strike you death   for not wanting to worship him.

A pastor by name JORDAN 32, walks in and Interrupts him)

Jordan: (to Otuoke) You lied.

 

Otuoke: Who do you think you are to stand before the servant of great Amadioha and to say that he        that sent me lied.

Jordan: (begins to speak in tongues as Chukwudi runs to his back) I am the servant of the most

high… The lord of lords. He has sent me to you to set his people free otherwise he will reveal to        you

That He is the only God of thunder and lightning.

Otuoke: (laughs at Jordan) you don’t know what you are saying…

(He carries his staff up and call)

Amadioha! Amadioha!

Arise, arise (he points the rod at the pastor but he dodges)

Jordan: (carries his bible up) Abba father, my father my father If I be a man of God, father Arise.

Otuoke: You are simply gabbling. The god of great thunder arise!

Jordan: (uses his bible) The blood of Jesus! (He begins to speak in tongues)

Otuoke falls down to the ground and begins to crawl but the Pastor pours the anointing oil on him and Otuoke screams and gets converted

Jordan: Thank you Jesus. Thank you Lord.

He moves to Amarachi and Chisimdiri and places his hands on them and heals them.

Amarachi: Brother, I can hear now.

Chisimdiri: I can now see, (holds Amarachi) Sister I can see you.

Chukwudi: (looks up to the sky) God thank you, thank You so much.

They all aside from the Pastor go on their knees and wave their hands to The sky in appreciation.
