This article will teach you how to love yourself — with a little help from some of the happiest people in the world. These are practical tips that you can put into practice today.
1. Don’t compare yourself to others
If you ever want to learn how to love yourself then never compare yourself to others. they will always be referred to as “others” and to you as “you”.
Everyone was created with a different gift and different abilities and this is what makes one unique. therefore instead of sitting down to look at others who in one way or the other have to discover theirs, why not get up and then discover your hidden weapon in life.
2. Be grateful for what you have:
The truth is that you may not know what you have until you lose it. there are many people out there who are wishing they can get a little of what you have and while you are busy looking for what you can’t have.
Being grateful for what you have will help you to be able to start loving yourself because it is only when you learn how to love yourself that you can be happy which will generate a healthy life.
3. Treat yourself every day — and don’t wait until you’re rich or famous to do it!
Taking yourself out for a while will not make you bankrupt happiness is a necessity if you want to enjoy your earning.
Treat yourself to ice cream or a park at least once a week make yourself independent because it will help you take power into your hands.
You can’t love someone if you don’t learn how to love yourself first.
Everyone has a weakness as we were not born perfect. But the way we handle things is what makes us different.
Your strength will make you stronger while your weakness will make you weaker, therefore, if you want to stand in life, then focus on your strength and you will see your life taking a U-turn sooner than expected.
5. Make time each day for something that makes you happy (and stick to it):
If you have a hobby good but if you don’t, then you will need one. before thinking of what other people feel about you or think about you, it is important that you, first of all, check your happiness.
Get a hobby or get attached to something that will always remind you how special and outstanding you are.
6. Schedule time for things that are important to you (without sacrificing time with friends and family)
Be coordinated in life, missing a family dinner is not an excuse, ensure that everything that you do is set. which means, do the right thing at the right time.
7. Take care of your body — eat right, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, etc. — because you deserve it!
Before someone can see you inside, it is your physical appearance that the person is seeing first.
Just as important as a first impression is, so is your appearance.
No matter how busy you are, ensure that you check on yourself and try as much as possible to stay healthy.

COMPARISON CAN DISTRACT YOU; FROM ACHIEVING YOUR GOAL, …
There is no doubt that everyone has one or two things to compare themselves to others. However, PROGRESS LOOKS DIFFERENT ON EVERYBODY. Your progress may never be like someone else’s progress. This is why whenever we compare different realities, we distract ourselves from focusing on our goals. By comparison, achieving your goals tends to get harder and more challenging.
Comparison is like a twin brother to whatever thing that is fighting against you from achieving your goal.
But then there are a lot of things that stops you from achieving your goal when comparison sets in, and there are;
Poor self-evaluation: You appreciate yourself less due to comparison and also due to the poor level of understanding of who you are and what you can achieve.
Off Boundaries: Comparing yourself with others makes you derail from your track and therefore take you off course. This makes you act based on others’ set limits instead of yours. This could be frustrating when certain goals are not met. Stay focused and improve yourself and act based on your set limits.
Insecurities: We become easily influenced by what we see and what goes on around us. This brings up feelings that we are the only ones with blemishes/shortcomings. Then jealousy, envy, and many other negative feelings start to set in.
We fail to understand that everyone has flaws but the real difference is the right attitude towards handling them.
Waste of time and energy: You start to become who you are not. This is waste of time! You can’t be anyone else but you. You can’t improve yourself only to become someone else. Trying to become someone else will only add to the wound and may even further destroy it completely.
STOP comparing yourself to others, stay in your lane.
Too often we compare our life to another, this can make you unhappy, frustrated, and unsatisfied. You have the vision to accomplish, It’s your journey, not someone’s journey.
What to do to overcome distractions
Here is what you can do to overcome these distractions:
ü Stay focused and get things done fast without distraction.
Your progress is your PROGRESS, not someone else’s progress. Try to compare yourself with yourself only. Try to compete with yourself. Try to outdo yourself. You may ask, who is yourself?
Yourself here is that perfect person you are created to be. When you discover yourself, work hard to be that person you are created to be. When you want to compete, compete to be that person you are created to be. When you want to compare, compare your present self with the person you are designed to be.
SECRETS FOR SUCCESS SUCCESS is a term that everybody wants to use for himself and along with his name. isn’t? Success is what every human desires. Some will say if you are not successful, what have you come to earth to achieve? Ask yourself. However, the secrets for success are numerous. It may require you to change some ideology, some understood concept, belief, and many others. What are the secrets to success?
STOP PROCRASTINATING Procrastination may be because you are avoiding unpleasant parts of work or because you are afraid of not succeeding at tasks. Whatever the reason may be, understand that those unpleasant you are avoiding are still there not done. Failure is inevitable! But a necessary part of gaining more experience.
One of the issues that arise from procrastination is that it causes a major setback in achieving success. Stop procrastinating! Do those tasks at the right time, stay committed to them, remove distractions and be focused, and ensure you get them done in time. Procrastination is a major hindrance to success. If you stop procrastinating, you will succeed. No two ways about it.
BE POSITIVE MENTALLY Know that there will be a time during your endeavors when questions will be asked of you as regards your commitment. There will be lots of difficult moments where you will be forced to quit. At this stage, it is left to you and your mentality. That positive mentality will help you during that difficult times. If you are strong mentally, you will have the tenacity to push to the end irrespective of the situation.
FAILURE IS INEVITABLE; EMBRACE IT According to Henry ford, he defined failure is “the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently”. Failure brings the truth behind the methods you implement. Failure doesn’t mean you are using the wrong idea; It may be because you are using the idea ineffectively.
Never take failure as a shame or take yourself as being not capable of handling tasks. Rather embrace it because failure is part of success. Re-strategize and bounce back more prepared, stronger, more experienced to succeed.
LEARN Learning is a process of gaining new knowledge, wisdom, understanding, behaviors, values, skills, tactics, success secrets, and many more. Learning is everything.
Learn from your mistakes, learn from your pasts, learn from people, learn from your environment, learn from books, learn from successful people, learn from yourself. Learning is everything. Learn at work, at home, while reading, while examining, while talking, etc. Learn because it is everything to being successful.
BE HAPPY Be happy with what you do, be happy with yourself, be happy with everybody around you, be happy with your environment. Happiness plays an integral role in having a positive mentality in achieving a large share of success.
If you are not happy with yourself, somehow you will not be happy with what you do. This means the green light for failure is shining bright on you in all dimensions.
If you are waiting for the perfect time to start something, then you may never start anything.
Don’t always wait for it to be perfect before you begin something.
Perfection is something we should aspire to achieve but one must adapt progressive perfectionism rather than conservative perfectionism. Been a perfectionist could help you but it can also kill your dream and ultimately delay your progress.
If you put off what you can do now because you want to have it all figured out, you may never do it at all.
There is always no perfect time to start something because things will never align the way you plan them to be.
If you are waiting for the Perfect Time,
Waiting for the perfect time, an entire lifetime will pass you by while waiting for the perfect time. Life is short and time is precious; time waits for no one remembers?
Waiting for the perfect time, other things will get in the way: when you are waiting for the perfect time, other things tend to come in and somehow you forget about your real plan.
Consider this: what if you have started earlier and those other things coming in you incorporate them into what you have started, won’t they be better?
Waiting for the perfect time, what if it never comes? Every day has its share of uniqueness. Opportunities come every day and all will pass you by while waiting for the perfect time.
Waiting for the perfect time, you are not learning anything: when you are inactive, you are not gaining any knowledge nor skills nor new experience. This is why you’ve got to make the most of each day to be prepared for the future.
Waiting for the perfect time, you may regret it: would you want to look back on your life and think ‘if only I started it…’ remember that we can’t change what has happened to us but we can change how we react afterward.
BUT
Starting Now, you’ll have quite outstanding results and a more fulfilled life: Taking action is always better than doing nothing any day any time. Even in failure, you are learning, you are gaining experience which would help in the future, you are enjoying life and at the same time, you are growing.
Loving
Loving
When you value yourself, you value time, and for this reason, you make the most of it.
It’s better to start with the little you know and perfect it as you progress. This is one of the secrets of the Chinese.
They don’t wait for perfection, they release what they produced to the Global market, and continue improving on the same product along the line.
Imagine an attack that knocks you down to the ground with serious injuries. Are you going to keep staying on the ground or rise and move? That is left for you to choose.
Some failure/ attack in life is inevitable and at the same time, nobody wants to be a victim. Nobody wants to fail. Everybody wants to win and achieve great things.
Times will come when life will hit you hard and will make you fall, but that doesn’t mean you should continue to be there. You can always get back on track again.
Walt Disney was fired by a company because he lacked imagination. However, that didn’t make him decide to fall completely but rather he made a comeback and now owns the Walt Disney theme Park and Mickey Mouse into Stardom.
When life knocks you down, here is what you can do.
Take enough time to heal: when you sustain injuries in an attack, you’ve got to treat it and allow it to heal which will take some time. So if you have just been fired, or suffered a massive blow to your business, take time to heal most especially the emotional and physical aspects.
This time is the time to take some time off, reflect on what has happened, and who knows you could develop the big and far better ideas.
Take Responsibility: Accept that you have failed irrespective of the situation. Understand that failure is part of human experience and it is inevitable.
Find out what went wrong: After taking responsibility for your failure, figure out those things that went wrong. For example, you input a storage device into a laptop, in the first and second instance, it didn’t work. Then you have to check what went wrong probably you have placed the wrong side on the laptop.
Find out what went wrong, fix it and improve yourself so you can do better in the future.
Learn: A lot of people are around you. These people have gone through similar situations like yours. Seek their opinion and learn from it. Read success stories of people who have achieved great things is also another place where you can learn a lot from.
Focus on the Positive aspect: Understand not just that failure is the opposite of success but also is a part of success. This is because failure makes you wiser, and gives you the experience to get things back on track in the future.
Think, plan, set a goal: Think, draft a plan, and set a goal. This will even go a long way since you have gained the experience and have understood the rights and wrongs.
Get things on track and start again: At this stage, after you have failed, decided to rise again, take responsibility, find out what went wrong, learn, focus on the positives, think, plan, and set a new goal, next is to get things on track and start again with the best version of yourself.
Remember “you don’t drown by falling in the water, you drown by staying there”
Therefore, do not be afraid to rise again and move.
