Uforo is seen washing her clothes and spreading them on a very

long rope and all of a sudden she hears her aunt and uncle

shouting and quarreling at each other.

Idara:

( To their surprise, about entering the house, Itoro is seen running

towards them and behind him is his wife chasing him with

pestle.having seen his wife coming, they all started to run to

different places to hide.)

(to Uforo)

Where is your foolish uncle?

Uforo:

(she slightly panics)

Aunt..hmm aunt.

Could you please drop the pestle. Please

(some young men comes in carrying Mkponnam who is lying

there breathless. )

Idara:

(on seeing her son, drops the pestle and rushes to him)

(calls his name but no response)

( Itoro rushes to his son as people gather watching them)

Itoro: Mkponnam! (taps him) mkponnam!

Please I know you are joking, waky waky(tears encompass his

eyes).

Abuja..wake up (he yells at him) why are you not responding?

When I hear people saying

I totally disagree with that.

Why do I disagree? It is because even in business field, we need

people, customers to patronized us in

other for us to sell.

why do we pray?

Some says:

All you need is God to excel. Yea that’s right and is the fact but that’s still an attention.

We go to God in pray sometimes in our closed doors because we want to communicate with God alone

without distraction.

We talk to God and he gives responds to our prayers,

Why? Because he has given attention to our prayers.

Our request can only be approved if we have an audience.

MKPONNAM: (slaps Uforo and the water falls from her head) How

UFORO: (tears roll down her cheeks) What did I do to you now?

Why have you slapped me for what I didn’t do? Why?

ITORO: Go and fetch the water… Leave them alone Uforo.

UFORO: (cries deeply as she carries the gallon away) Daddy! Daddy mmi o!

Why did you choose to leave me so soon?

What were you thinking when you left me? Mommy, how about you?

Are you happy that I am going through all this? Imoh (she smiles) can you still recollect how much I told

you that I hate uncle’s family.

I knew they were never good people (tears roll down her cheeks) he has sold all the lands and has made

fetch the water I saw my father in white, he was drained with blood instead of the falling rain, he was

trying to tell me something but couldn’t, it actually seemed like his throat was closing up and blood was

gushing from his mouth. (tears rush down her eyes) He was seriously crying and looking at me

pityingly. (wipes her tears with her left palm) I went inside the rain, tried touching him but couldn’t. And

all of a sudden my sister in white tapped my shoulder and when I turned towards her direction, I saw

her, she was so beautiful, much more beautiful than when she was alive, she smiled at me and vice

versa. She sat me down in the rain and told me she has never left my side. She said so many nice things

about me. It was so real that I thought I was dead. She told me to start selling and that I will definitely

derive pleasure from it and it will surely help me, she put out her hand and handed me some money. I

was about counting the money when I was woken up by the voice of my aunt.

(she smiles) can you imagine, on my way coming to school I met a middle age woman who looked so

much like my mother, she gave me twenty thousand naira. After which, she told me sorry and that she

believed in me and my abilities, she left. I was so surprised and wordless. I still do not know what she

meant by she believed in me and what I can do.

Paul:

My dear, your deceased parents and your sister love you so much, and what they couldn’t achieve

because of death you will certainly achieve all of it. I think I have ten thousand naira in this my school

bag, my uncle in the city gave it to me to get a new school material set. But I was thinking of giving you

the money seriously. Immediately the money got into my hands, your name began ringing in my head,

you guys may not believe me but am dead serious.

Rita:

Rita is seen reading and also praying for her friends. Enter Paul, straight to where Rita was.

PAUL: Hello.

RITA: (carries her head up and panics seeing him stand by her) Hey, senior Paul what are you doing here?

PAUL: Do not be afraid, I’m not here to ignite trouble with you again. Rather, I am here to say am very sorry, I didn’t think twice before portraying such behavior. Am very sorry.

RITA: (calms down)

Senior it’s okay. I have forgiven you besides I wasn’t the one you offended anyway.

PAUL: Yea, I know. So where is she?

RITA: Her uncle came and took them home.

PAUL: (feeling sorry for Uforo) I hope everything is fine.

RITA: No ooo (she cries out). Her mother and father are gone. They are both dead, who will take care of them now? Who will be proud of her when she makes it?

To whom would she struggle to live for? Her sister ImOh just collapsed and fell down on the floor when their uncle told them about it.

In the hospital, Imoh is seen lying down on the bed crying, while Uforo sits beside her trying to console her.

Uforo: (holds her hand)

Ext : UNDER A BIG MANGO TREE IN FRONT OF A HUGE OBSOLETE BUILDING… DAY

A tall dark skinny man by name MFONISO 53, is seen sitting down with his brother by name ITORO 41 drinking and talking about their immediate families under a huge umbrella tree.

MFONISO: (laughs out loudly)

My dear brother, can you imagine, my wife called me last night and told me she wants to go back to school…

ITORO:

(laughs out mockingly)

Hmm. Is she out of her mind, when things are very hard. Does she have the money to see herself through school?

MFONISO:

My brother, there is money but I think she is too old for that. I was actually thinking of enrolling my daughters in one of the secondary schools here.

ITORO:
